What did I make?
Small overview on what I made in the past.
Aleida van Holland
Voor het IDDF festival in Schiedam heb ik in 2022 en 2023 Aleida van Holland gemaakt en vertolkt voor de Citywalk. Veel beeltenissen van haar waren er niet, want het was nogal een onverschrokken dame die ze al eens hebben willen verwijderen uit de geschiedenis. Aleida leefde van 1228 tot 1284.
Kostuum bestaat uit een gele linnen onderjurk, groene overjurk van dunne wol (met handgeweven banden in wol), bijpassende hoofdtooi van wit linnen (1 geplooide versie en 1 geborduurde versie). Fibula's en riem zijn replica's uit die tijdsperiode. Onzichtbaar was een periode correct haarnetje.
Weaving and Natural Dying
Weaving and natural dying go hand in hand in my studio a lot. I like the control on how my straps and belts will look like and don't have to skip endlessly through premade, and mostly polyester, ribbons. The dying is always tricky. Colours come out different with differnet water, envirement and sunlight. Always a surprise what comes out of the pot.

I'm probably best known for my Shae dresses. Inspired by the Game of Thrones handmaiden dress and ancient Greek and Roman fasion, I made a one size fits all fantasy dress, that was elegant and easy for many types of events. I might have made hundreds.
